Ofsted Exceptional

St Mary’s has been judged Exceptional in all seven areas of our recent Ofsted inspection. We are the first primary school in England to achieve this. We are very proud of what it says about our children and our staff.

Inspectors found that our pupils love to learn and that their behaviour is exemplary. They saw that every child is supported to thrive. They watched our children lead change through courageous advocacy and the Young Transformers programme. They also noticed how our values show in the way pupils care for one another. We are especially pleased that inspectors saw St Mary’s as it is on any ordinary day.

Our staff simply taught their usual lessons in the St Mary’s way. We would like to thank our governors and our colleagues across Genesis Education Trust for their support. This is not a moment for complacency. Our staff believe that every moment of learning matters. We will keep working to serve our pupils with distinction, now and in the future.
